I’m so excited to have just entered my golden year!
I wanted to publish this on my actual birthday last week, but moving into our new apartment has proven quite rocky (will share the details on another day!).
A few years ago, I came across the concept of a golden birthday, which is the year you turn the same age as your birthday
Last Thursday I turned 29 on the 29th and thus I have just kicked off my very own golden birthday.
Said to have originated in the 1950’s and created by author, Joan Bramsch, your golden birthday kicks off a year of good luck. And before you roll your eyes, Florian celebrated his golden age at 23, which is the year he met me!
Florian took me to Le Train Blue, an amazing French restaurant, to celebrate and both the food and atmosphere were surreal.
Set in a turn of the century buffet, it was originally opened to host guests during the 1900 World Exhibition. The rooms have tall and ornate ceilings lined with gold trimmings and beautiful frescos.
Our meal was incredibly delicious and we were both seen nodding in absolute pleasure with every bite.
The wait staff were friendly and knowledgable and I even got a candle in my dessert which I thought was a lovely touch.
I’m pretty excited to be in Paris for pretty much all of my golden year- despite the current re-confinement and MIA landlord.
I think content may be a little few and far between given we’re only allowed outside for an hour a day, but who knows, maybe I’ll start a cooking in confinement series 😂
Until next time!
