Remember a time when you developed a scratchy throat and chesty cough and thought of it as nothing but a pretty bad cold- those were the days.
I usually get a cough around this time of year but it generally subsides in a few days. However, this time around I didn’t want to be ‘that’ person who ignored the symptoms and didn’t go and get tested, just incase.
Sunday night and early into Monday morning, I was up coughing and sent my manager a message to advise I was going to pay and visit a Covid-19 clinic.
I headed over to the clinic at Concord Hospital early Monday morning and have to say I was very impressed by the whole experience.
The staff were super friendly, and although it felt like I had the plague whilst there, it was over in no time.
After filling in a form with my details, I then entered into the consult room with the tester, where I had the swab stuck so far up my nose, I didn’t think was possible.
My eyes watered, I coughed and I felt as if my brain had been poked, but this was all over in 30 seconds.
I did the test around 10 am and got my results sent to me at 6 pm (so speedy!) which concluded:

Woohoo I don’t have Corona!!
I was pretty certain I didn’t have it but just wanted the peace of mind that I wasn’t going to responsible for spreading the second wave across the city.
If you have any symptoms at all, don’t be too worried about the test. It’s painless and over before you know it.
I’ll still work from home to ensure I’m not spreading whatever it is I have and stick to the cough medicine and lemsip.
Everyone can do their little bit to reduce the spread so I can finally get married!!!
