How fast time goes by!
Yesterday I attended my 10-year high school reunion and in the week leading up, it was hard to believe a whole decade had passed by since I graduated.
If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know I created a bucket list whilst still in high school and surprisingly, one item on there included ‘attend your high school reunion’ so I had to attend to ensure I continue to keep ticking items off.
Going to an all-girl high school can be a little cliquey and so it was hard to really know what to expect from the girls who clicked attending to the event.
I wasn’t nervous before arriving per se, but I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Our year group had a wide range of different personalities and we all didn’t always get along. I look back at how much I’ve grown and changed in the time passed and I couldn’t assume everyone was still their 18 years old selves.
The sky was blue as far as the eye could see and the warm spring sun warmed my back as I sipped on cocktails at Sydney’s prime location, Opera Bar.
Of the 98 invited on the event, 16 showed up and consisted of girls from different groups. When I arrived I was more excited to just catch up with everyone that remembering who sat with who and the drama you shared between someone.
We spent the afternoon drinking cocktails in the sun, laughing about distant memories from a lifetime ago.
For those of you who have their reunions approaching this year or in the coming years, I couldn’t recommend enough that you attend. Leave behind the drama that once was, because honestly, no one cares anymore.
Just go and have a great time!
10-year reunion, wow!
